Waste Reduction We minimize emissions and waste at our facilities by adhering to the reduce-reuse-recycle-recover philosophy. Case in point: each year we use about 50,000 tons of recycled post-consumer fiber in our products. Pollution Prevention The paper fiber used in our manufacturing process is bleached without the use of elemental chlorine or chlorine compounds. Recycled post-consumer fiber is processed chlorine-free.

Sustainable Forestry
Wausau Paper® is committed to 100% reforestation of forested lands within five years of harvest. The majority of lands under our management are reforested within the first two years.

Waste & Energy Management
Our water and energy management programs minimize the impact on the environment and the communities in which we operate. We are continually exploring and enhancing our capabilities, such as generating more power from renewable energy sources.
